At first I was skeptical of staying at a State Fair, but I was very impressed! The whole place was super clean and well kept, all the sites had full hookups, and the location was great. Another huge plus is that you can put your garbage in the cans right next to your campsite instead of having to lug all your trash across the park to find a dumpster. Overall I had a great experience here and I’d highly recommend giving this place a shot!
We stayed 2 nights recently in a 25’ Airstream. Great value, excellent location (could walk to the Eagles Concert). Gravel sites, fairly close together, secure area and $25 per night!
It is a bare bones place to pull in. The lots are close together, level, and the hook ups are all good. Reservations are marked by a cone being placed in front of your pull spot. There are no facilities, and it is really busy before the local college football games. Very reasonably priced for a place to spend the night or meet a group.
Attended a holiday craft event at Graham building. Very well organized. So many excellent vendors. Friendly, helpful organizers. Parking easy. In out easy. 👍👍
We have used this campground for 2 events in the Raleigh area. Full hookup, level ground on most sites, trees throughout with grassy area for dogs. First come, first serve, but we did not have a problem finding a spot. Central location. Would absolutely use again and recommend.
Solid state-run basic campground at the fairgrounds. Note that they have just switched to a reservation system and you must use their website to reserve a site (no longer is it first-come-first-served). Luckily, the site we picked was available for our 4-night stay...
The campground is tucked away in the fairgrounds and for $35 per night you get full 50amp hookup service with water/sewer as well. It worked perfectly for our stay in the Raleigh area. There are no amenities and there is nothing walking distance other than fairgrounds and the arena/stadium areas (long walk). Maybe they could make a walking trail? It was disappointing there was a nice lake adjacent to the campground that was fenced off. I imagine during a hockey or NC State football event it is highly sought-after. Luckily there wasn't an event the time we stayed but it was about 65% full by Friday. Wifi was available but barely usable; speed test revealed very low speed.
They were re-grading and possibly preparing the roads for paving when we were there. Paving would be a major upgrade as the roads were quite dusty. Hope so as we will be back when visiting family again in Raleigh!
We stayed here for three nights and it was lovely! It had full hook ups and trash pickup! The location was about 20 minutes from downtown Raleigh. If you’re looking for a RV park I highly recommend you come here! 🩵
We took our babies to the NC State Fair. We had a great time all hanging out together. We walked from one side to the other. OMG!! Boy, has the prices gone up since the last time. You almost need a second mortgage to go there. Nonetheless, the babies had a great time.
